British Values

At West Cliff Primary School, SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) provision is embedded across the curriculum, and underpins the ethos of our school. We recognise that the personal development of pupils’, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve. Therefore, we aim to provide pupils with opportunities to explore and develop their own values and beliefs, spiritual awareness, a caring attitude towards other people, an understanding of their social and cultural traditions and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of the cultures. The school will ensure that children should understand the influences that the culture in which they live, and that of the wider community influences has.

We work hard with our children to promote the values of democracy, liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.
